There are some suprficial similarities, but that is only showing that the calico is typical of a striped obseleta. As I pointed out some time ago, the striped gene could easily be carried in the KY populations. It is a common ratsnake trait and nothing alarming, shocking or unexpected when it appears from blotched populations of obseleta.
