I just wanted to share it with the group.

The funny thing is when I first saw it I sort of gasped. I thought, "oh my gosh! that is a picture of a Calico Cowsucker!" Then I read the caption and saw that it was just a bairdi. I was a little disappointed but it is still a magnificent looking snake and I thought worthy to post in the group.

I guess everybody is going to laugh at me for making a mistake like that but take a look at the head shot from the Calico Cowsucker and compare it to the bairdi in the picture.

Everybody please cut me some slack too, because I think they look a little alike especially to an untrained eye such as mine.

You know, even the color and the pattern of the two look a little alike to me. The specked gray ground color with light but distinguishable stripes. Here is a picture of the Calico Cowsucker that you can compare side by side to the bairdi pictured above.

I hope nobody jumps to any conclusions about this post. I'm not trying to imply or infer anything. I just wanted to post a picture of a cool looking bairdi and share my funny story about mixing it (temporarily) with a Calico Cowsucker.

Thanks,

Saw
