E. climacophora hibernation help

My Japanese rat hasn't eated for almost 8 weeks now so i decided to put him into hibernation. he is around a yr old and i have cooled him down to about 57 over the last 2 weeks and i have put him in a plastic cage (15" by around 8") with a big layer of substrate and he has buried underground. my question is: how long does he need to be in hibernation for it to make him feed? as he is a yearling and hasn't eaten for 8 weeks he won't be too strong. thanks,
