Here is another pic, if your garage was kinda dim the black may not have showed up very well, and in your haste to depart the garage, may not have noticed it. LOL This is a pic of him stretched out. You cant really see the black that well in this pic, and it possible the one you saw had less black border on its saddles.
As for the snake having a lump in it after feeding, just depends on the food size. If it ate something fairly big, (large mouse or chipmunk) you would be able to see a lump.
About frequency of feeding, In the wild, depends really on the size of food item the snake eats. If a larger corn or rat eats a lizard or small mouse it would probably eat again as soon as food presented itself. If it ate good, a bird nest full of babies, baby rabbits, big chipmunk, it could go a week or two easily without having to feed again.
As for drinking on a daily basis, probably not, but they do drink water, and could go for a few days without drinking. That mostly depends on the temp and the ability to find someplace cool to hang out on a hot day. Hope this helps.

:Thank you for your help I can use all the help I can get. Your snake has black on it, and it appears to be thicker than the one I saw in my garage. I didn't see any black on the body and it was upward so couldn't see the bottom of this snake. I am keeping my garage door open but have questions. How often do snakes eat and if they ate would I see a lump in its body, don't know how long it takes snakes to digest their food which I know are birds, mice, rats, lizards, etc. And do they drink water on a daily basis?
:I was thinking, perhaps this one here is a rat snake instead of the corn snake as I didn't see black on its body.
