i know the bites don't hurt, i've been bitten from numerous large common water snakes (natrix natrix) around here, i live on the chesapeake so they are quite common. even those ites don;t hurt much, usually it is funny, i was catching a 6 foot one before and when he tagged me i just laughed and let him go. i posted pic above. will the snake always keep this beautiful pattern, or will he turn black?
