::I can't find much info on albino yellow rats and I just got the nicest little guy - wonderful temperament, great feeder and absolutely gorgeous. Can anyone tell me if striping in albino yellows occurs with maturity in all individuals or if it is genetic - like striping in corns. Do some some retain saddles and if they all become striped, what age or size do saddles disappear? I have read differnt things in different places. This guy has lemon yellow head and belly, thin orange stripe on his back and very pale orange stripes along his sides. Reeally don't know why there aren't more of these beautiful snakes around.
::Thanks,

:Mary,
: Congratulations on your new albino yellow rat. I agree, they are one of my favorite snakes. I'm fortunate because yellow rats are common where I live. I have one adult pair so I'm hardly an expert but neither of mine have retained any of their juvenile pattern. They're just bright yellow with red eyes. My male has developed some orange coloration between his scales in the front of his body that I think is really attractive. Two experts on these guys frequent this forum (Jeff Schofield and Dwight Good). Jeff is working on some really interesting morphs that he occasionally shows off on the forum. (not frequently enough :)
:Here's a pic of my female to give you an idea...(I posted these pics a while back..I need to take some new pics.
: Enjoy your new snake,
: Chris
