:I thought that all albinos came from a WC specimen found by Lloyd Lemke near Tampa? (I may be very wrong about this).
From the data I have collected, there were originally two strains of albino yellows, one from Lemke and the other from a WC animal from Tampa. I'm not sure if they are compatible, or if the lines have been bred together and now exist as one. I do know that there are forms that are incompatible. Ed Wallen bred two albinos together a few years back and got all normal offspring. I have albinos and hets from that line but they are still young animals. It will be interesting to sort out!
Concerning the strain that is advertised on kingsnake, I havent heard of a German strain before now. That surely doesnt mean that they are not legit. Keep in mind the German stuff originated here (unless there is a disjunct population of quadrivittata) LOL. Just like everything else, if you trust the seller then go for it. Have you tried contacting the seller for more info? I am sure he will oblige.
Here is a pic of one I hatched last year and is typical of the Lemke strain.
Good luck,
dg
