Sorry for the novice questions.
I am wondering if I should worry about my rat snake. It is a yearling black rat about 17 inches long. It has always been a voracious eater. He was eating two thawed pinks every 4 to 5 days. He regurgitated one pink mouse last month, so I waited one week to feed him. He was about to shed so I waited until after the shed to feed him, a total of about 10 days. Since then he went back to his 4 –5 day feeding pattern and was eating great. This week he refused food for the first time. I took it away after about 15 minutes and waited two days (today) to try again. Still no interest. His level of activity is unchanged coming out mid morning and climbing all around the cage until evening. I have seen him drinking. Fecal examinations have been negative for parasites. He spends an equal about of time in the warm and cool hiding places.
At what stage should I start to worry? He does not appear weak in any way. Any suggestions?
Thanks.
