I'm no vet or anything, but I would have to disagree with this idea. Aspiration is a simple procedure if done carefully and to me is greatly preferred over invasive surgery.
Also be sure to insert the needle between the scales and not through one.
If multiple eggs are bound you might want to aspirate the egg closest to the cloaca only then give her a day to see if the others pass as well. If not continue.
Of course if she goes several days and still does not pass anything, surgery may have to be considered.
