I am in Miami and have the benefit of being able to visit imports and see lots of snakes. I receintly bought a pair of striped tigers (my fourth pair of tigers). I looked through about 10 striped snakes and only one was female. As it turned out she was one of the prettier snakes. The male I selected was sort of dark but he was orange instead of yellow. So females are out there but they are the minority of whats coming in. In my experience.
: I have a pair of striped captive hatched babies coming next week. I will post pictures if I have my camera back by then. I know what you mean about stripes being male though. I also responded to just about every ad posted in the last two weeks advertising normal captive bred adults for sale asking for large females and I haven't heard back from one dealer, not even out of common courtesy.

: : Has any one ever seen the high white, aka striped and/or speckled Spilotes females? Every one I've ever seen or seen advertised has been male.
