so they can be reliable pink eaters eh.. i just hate lizard feeders.. given i DO breed mourning geckos, which make food feeders, but still.. its so much easier if it'll take pinks.. they're offering it to me for 50.. how much did you pay for yours? the guy at the store looks exactly like yours pictured.. maybe its not a diadema...
: : also called the Awl Headed Snake, Shovel Nosed Snake, or Leaf Nosed Snake. i'm looking for care info on these guys? i've been able to find the basics, size, habitat and such, but not things like, are they rodent feeders or lizard, what temps, ect? i assume since they're from Arabia, they need to be kept uh.. fairly warm.. lol.. the local petshop that i visit at leat 5 days a week after work is known for getting in neat little obscure colubrids, and selling them for a tiny amount of money, and the employees know me fairly well so are always trying to get me to buy them since they know i like things like obscure colubrids.. anyway.. any info on these guys would be greatly appreciated..
: I've had two Lytorhynchus diadema gaddi (or just Lytorhynchus gaddi, depending on who you ask) for the last half-year or so, one of which is pictured below. I'm keeping them in a rack system, the room's 76-77 during the day, dropping to 73-74 at night, and the rack has a warm side kept at 85. I doubt they'd get much benefit from additional heat, given that they're nocturnal and would presumably be spending the warm bits of the day hiding in cool places... They've got a 7 gal. rubbermaid each, and are on aspen. I know they're supposed to be primarily lizard-eaters in the wild, but my two have been pretty reliable about accepting pinkies... one of them will skip a meal every now and then, but not often enough to be problematic, and the other's only turned down a meal when he was in shed. I've just been leaving f/t pinks in their cages overnight. So far, they seem to be hardy little guys that can be kept easily in a basic setup.
