This snake was found by docric in east tennessee. Take a look at them and see what you think about it. Any help for this guy would be cool. This is his explanation:
Last week my wife was picking up the laundry in the basement and this little pink snake fell out of the clothes. We put him in a mason jar and took him upstairs to figure out what it was and lid (cloth) was not secured tight enough and he got out sometime during the day. I searched my daughter’s bedroom, could not find it, and figured it would die. I called a snake owning friend and he said it was probably a corn snake and not to worry as it would find its way back outside. Two nights later at 11:00 PM I heard the cocker spaniel puppy going nuts barking at something in the yard and went out to find he had the same little snake cornered, so I caught the rascal again! This time we were careful and secured him for the night.
My research leads me to believe that it is in fact a black rat snake with some mutation. We have many black snakes on the farm. I have never seen a corn snake here.
We have him in a proper enclosure now with some heat and he ate a pink mouse tonight. This is our first attempt at keeping a pet snake as I have been told he would not make long in the wild.Any info would be appreciated. Some have suggested he is an escaped pet, but we live in the middle of 30 acres in the mountains and this would be impossible. We had a 6-7 foot long black snake on the front porch last summer and I expect it is Mom or Pop.
A couple of people have offered to post pics for me. The first guy appears unsuccessful in his attempt but helped with some good information!
Thanks
