: : : What are all the black rat color morph now being propagated in captivity ?
: : I assume by color morphs, you mean mutations. Going on that basis there are the following
: : Albino t+
: : Albino t-
: : Hypomelanistic "lavender"
: : Brindle
: : White sided "licorice stick"
: : Leucistic
: : Scaleless
: : And combos of these I'm sure. I hope this helps.

: Adam,
: Just curious, what is the difference between a T+ albino and a hypomelanistic "lavender"? Phenotypically they are almost identical, is there a way to tell one from the other?
: Thanks for any info,
: dg
The difference between t+ and t- can usually be discerned phenotypically inthat one retains more of te reddish blotches, while they fade dramatically on the other. When bred to each other they produce normals. Lavenders are something else. most likely hypomelanistic.
