: You already can start to forget the name Elaphe for all New World species. The distance between those and the genus type Elaphe parreyssi (Elaphe sauromates)is too large. That means not the continental distance! However, this distance is even large enought. Except, somebody can give the proof that one of the first European or Asian immigrants introduced that genus in America :)))
