Good judgement? Based on what scientific or medical expertise/evidence are you using? This is EXACTLY how many snakes are killed....that is, using the Julia Child's technique (a little shot here, a little fog there). That is NO WAY to determine what is appropriate nor does it provide good advice on the proper way to use that product. Now, I am not a chemical scientist (I am a biologist), however, I can tell you, that we have used PAM for 100's of herps when used according to the istructions given, and we have never had a single adverse reaction. I don't want to keep this debate going, but it seems to me that there is really only one legitimate (approved) product on the market that has been field tested. But as Robyn mentioned, we all have to do what we feel is best for our herps. I am just glad that pro products came out with this product when they did because the herpetological community has needed it for many, many years.

:It takes good judgement to decide how much is too much. You are supposed to just lightly fog the container that the animal is in. I'm not talkin heavy spraying. Of course it needs to be in proportion to the animal's size. For example, with a baby corn snake...only a small short spray...maybe half a second would be appropriate. For most snakes...it should be only 1-3 seconds of spraying.
