The shell was that way when I got him from the wild. I've only had him for 3-4 mos. His shell is 2". I feed him earthworms, crickets and zoomed turtle pellets, also insects that I catch, but in Wisconsin, it's a little past that season now. ;)
It's pretty hard to get him to eat stuff that's not alive and moving.
