Water snake behavior

Now that i'm positive about having a "florida banded water snake". Can somebody who have some experience with those snake tell me a bit about their behavior ??? Is it something like the garter ? Right now, we handle him almost every day and he never try to bite us, just once he "squirt" and we were giving him quite a handling ( his shedding was stuck and we have him soak then rubbing ). Any hint is welcome ;)
