"Basking site"!!! Thats the word! My red and yellow don't bask! They also don't spend much time in the water however, I have only a 3 gallon "dish" for the red and 1 gallon for the yellow. I'd really like to increase water volume for all but I find that cleaning is a problem since I dump and fill daily/every 2nd day.
Maybe an increase in water volume would give them another security (?) and they'd show more often. Wow, captive bred/born. That's something to look forward to seeing. Then you could show us each colour phase transition ...
