yes they could have but in that case, the colors wouldnt breed true. geneticvally high colored animals will produce high color babies (or at least some will be and they will carry the gene) animals that have been temp manioulated to brighten the colors and reduce the melanin, will not breed true because it isnt a genetic trait. so if originally it was a temp thing way down the line the colors would have been lost (due to "normal" incubation) i know that most of what i have has been incubated the "normal" way because i know what method the breeders used, a couple of them i do not know for sure what method but it will be interesting to see what comes out in the offsapring next year-robin
