Two seperate leos in two seperate incidents.
My male Tremper was kept on sand. Red Repti-sand. He was fine. I decided to switch the sand because it was getting messy and spot cleaning wasgetting to be a chore. Changed it to white repti-sand.
He stopped eating and got listless for about a week. Midway through the week I moved him to a clean cage with paper towels. My leo sick bay, lol. I didn't know what was wrong yet, so I put him in observation. At the end of that week he passed a log of white sand. He instantly started eating again after that.
On another substrate...but an imapction regardless...
One of my co-workers got two little leopard geckos. She put them both on desert blend (The walnut stuff). She's kept beardies since hatchling size on it before and figured, desert animals, keep it the same.
One of the little guys was impacted within the 2 days after arriving. I had to nurse that little one back to health for a month. Impaction, bloody feces, weight loss... finally (after 2 weeks of almost nothing but pedialyte) he passed the walnut and started eating again, but he was a stick.
He's happy and healthy today.
There's my personal experiences.
