I know that he did'nt say they live exclusively on sand....I never said that he did. And the whole "I've used it for __ years and my leos are fine!" argument is a fallacy in itself. I can run across the street millions of times and not get run over, but is that a good reason to do it???? Common sense is a lost virtue in today's world. I am not attacking anyone, but I cannot sit on my hands and let others give out misinformation, although it may be well intentioned. And last time I checked, leos need food, but they don't need sand. To say that being impacted from food is the same as impaction from sand is ABSURD. No food=DEATH.......No sand=ALIVE. You see the difference? Can we please set aside the egos and place the health of our animals above our own petty quest to be the "leopard Gecko King."
:Again, he did not say they live exclusively on sand, just that they come in contact with it. I am also not sure that it is the BEST substrate, but it is a viable option that has worked well for many keepers.
:Anything they put in their mouths, including their food, can cause an impaction.
