Dave, lighten up. I know at least two of the TAC committee support the use of subspecies in regulation. I will wager that all (or almost all) of them do. Despite your (and other people's) views on subspecies there are good reasons for subspecies in some instances. You don't need to be told why they are helpful in regulation. It is inherently obvious. I read your comments as "these suggestions suck, go do something useful". I would suggest that you add to/articulate changes to the proposed rule rather than criticize. Certainly what is written is NOT a final draft. It will be translated into legalese and revised and updated a number of times before NRAAC puts an official endorsement behind it. Unfortunately I would tend to agree that restrictions on endangered threatened will need to be changed. It makes sense to me to allow legally acquired (out of state) threatened/endangered to be captive produced. It will come along with time. Your help would be appreciated, but if you have nothing constructive to say, please hold your tongue.
