I will have to go with TJ on this . Garter Snakes are not unlawfull to ship unless the sub species in question ( ie San Francisco Garter ) is protected . Dealers such as Glades Herp ship Garter snakes on a regular bassis . In Ohio you have to have a permit and PIT tag the animal because it is an Ohio native herp ( eastern garter ). Not because it is protected but just because it is a native . If I sell one here I have to have to have all the paper work .
