According to Coastal Reptiles venomous laws page, there are no regulations or permits required for exotic venomous reptiles in the state of NC. There are only regulations on native venomous. As far a a local county law, call or visit your local county courthouse and ask somebody if there is current legislation concerning the ownership of exotic venomous snakes within the county. If there isn't, you might have to take the police report to a lawyer and have them figure out how to give the snake back. I hope you have proof of purchse, because remember that posession is 9/10 of the law..........
