: Great question.
: Drymarchon corais is the species for all indigos and cribos. Eastern indigos are D.c. couperi. Texas indigos I believe are D.c. rubidus. D.c.melanurus is the Black tail cribo. D.c. corais is another cribo (yellow tail?).
: Hope this helps (and I hope I have all the subspecies right)
Hello Matt
Hi Doug:
As Doug has stated, Drymachon is the genus all Indigos and Cribos belong to. There are seven species. To correct one thing Doug, D. c. rubidus is the Mexican Indigo. D. c. erebenus is the Texas Indigo. Have a Great Day!!!
