Doug,

Very cool! Get that site up;)

If you have a second, answer me this. You mention your male is jumpy. How would you concider
their temperment overall? Are they as friendly as your average eastern indigo?
Do you handle yours, or are they a little too unpredicatable/nippy for casual handling.

thanks much,
-jason

we wanna massurana!!....all together now!!!;-)

:I do have a juvenile pair of mussuranas. I don't have any good pictures to share. It's not that I don't have good pictures yet, it's just that the website that will have the high quality pictures isn't up yet. It's in the works.

:They are neat little critters right now. They'll eat as many as 7 pink mice at a time. They are just about big enough to start taking fuzzy mice.

:I've never worked with this species before, but they haven't posed any real problems yet. Hopefully someday, they'll be willing to produce some eggs for me. My assumption on egg incubation is that they require exactly the same conditions as Cribo eggs. That's 3-4 years from now tho'.

:Right now, they are Black on the back and sides, red on the belly, white chinned. They should fade to all black except for the chin as adults. The male is very jumpy when handled, while the female is very calm. When the website is up, there will be lots of pictures of them...I promise.

:Doug T
