: Well my Yellowtail female ended up laying 18eggs that were all infertile. But I have been pumping her back up to try and double clutch her. I figure it is worth a shot. On the other hand, one of the Unicolors laid 12 eggs the other day. 8 of them are perfect. I am very excited about them. Hopefully they will hatch out ok. Just thought I would share that info.
Matt,
First congratulation on the Uni-color eggs. The second thing I will say, with all respect to you is that after laying 18 slugs that i would not attempt to breed this female again this year, give her a year off and let her gain back some valuable body weight and you might be surprised by her production next year. You might also want to check your male for fertility or get an alternate male for next year. Just some advice, you may have your own ideas about how to handle it, not condeming your practice, but I have been there and done that in this case. Wait a year, it's worth it..
Fred
