: : : Well my Yellowtail female ended up laying 18eggs that were all infertile. But I have been pumping her back up to try and double clutch her. I figure it is worth a shot. On the other hand, one of the Unicolors laid 12 eggs the other day. 8 of them are perfect. I am very excited about them. Hopefully they will hatch out ok. Just thought I would share that info.
: : Matt,
: : First congratulation on the Uni-color eggs. The second thing I will say, with all respect to you is that after laying 18 slugs that i would not attempt to breed this female again this year, give her a year off and let her gain back some valuable body weight and you might be surprised by her production next year. You might also want to check your male for fertility or get an alternate male for next year. Just some advice, you may have your own ideas about how to handle it, not condeming your practice, but I have been there and done that in this case. Wait a year, it's worth it..

: Fred,
: I was going to do just that. But Chuck had recomened that to me. I am not even sure if my male will be willing to bred again. I had only witnessed copulation between the 2 of them once in their origanal breeding. Any way thank you for your advice. Keep those indigos going.

Matt
Just what are you saying that I reccommended to you? My advice was that I had never heard of anyone double clutching Drymarchons and that I doubted it could be done. I advised against doing it unless your female still had good body weight and seemed in good health. I don't reccommend double clutching any snakes.
