Dear Herpetologists,
I have 4 Spilotes pullatus.
2 Captive born youngs (130 cm) and 2 Wild Specimens (male and female) 180 cm.
These 2 wild specimens come from different sources and were always kept separetly.
Both were dewormed and to both was given a single dosis of Flagyl.
Feaces are negative for worms and parasites in both specimens.
The female ate 2 big mauses and after that she had always lost a little fresh blood (only little marks over the paper) from her vent.
After a big meal (big mouse) also the male lost some blood from his vent (but only very smalls marks and only once).
The feaces are normal looking: only it can happens to see small blood spures in the female's cage when she defecates.
What can it be ?
Small lacerations in the cloaca, caused by "too big feaces" ?
Have you ever experienced something like this ?
Thanks for your help and suggestions
Ruggero
