Mine is a mild chocolate brown (pink belly) snake that almost looks like an overgrown rubber boa, except the head and tail. Colors range from jet black to black with bright red bellies, silver bodied ones, and of course, brown and pink like mine.
They have plenty of "attitude" and are quite vocal, just like pituophis. Also, they are Powerful constrictors with a very potent bite.
I'd rather take a bite from my big male indigo than from my mole snake although she's quite mellow with me.
Anyway, Mole snakes are also something reasonably sized that many folks haven't worked with yet so figuring them out is a fun challenge.
Why it is that indigo lovers are so enamored with them and not the pit' loving group seems odd to me.
