PM, Few of us know all the squamates & the price of error can be steep. Any snake caught in an urban environment should be assumed to be an escaped exotic & thus presumed to be an elapid & should thus handled w/ tongs or hook.
If your find per-chance is an indy, I'll bet the owner is making an all-out effort to recover it (pet stores/flyers). If she/he gets it back, you deserve a dinner for 2 certificate! c&b;jg
: ???? It's a rescue,so I don't know much about it,but it's head is scale for scale an indigo, same w/the scales and belly scales.I've ruled out black ratsnakes, this snake is too fat.I can't get a pic of a black racer.(?)It basically looks exactly like a female indigo, but has a white chin, instead of red, same disposition, scalation.I think the guy caught it in Maryland, way out of indigo's range.Could someone point me in the right direction?
