As for your side note, I live in South Florida and have seen red throated specimens more frequently in the southern part of the state than the central and northern parts. I have seen many from my own observations as well as watching idiots collecting them later to be caught selling them etc. I always try to get the locality of the specimens for various reasons. I do alot with E.Diamondbacks and due to similar habitat, run into Indigos.
