red throat indigos

was just wondering,and have been for some time on why red throats are speckled,unlike the 'normal' indigo's. i presently have 1.2 with a red throat male and this has just fasinated me. also what is the take on producing red throats,does it take a male+female red throat to produce them.on a side note...which really isin't are the red throats from a different region???
