They are magnificent serpents. I have often thought to scale back (no pun) on my non hots (I have two Ball Pyth's and two Burmese (one is green phase)). Since I have gotten into Vens, I have really desired no other non's. However, Everything I'm seeing and hearing about Drymarchon is really remarkable. I used to think they were just "trash" snakes, like I would say garters and certainly rat snakes are. (I would never neglect a "trash" snake If I owned one, mind you, it's just that some snakes are so common, I really don't see their appeal as captives.)
Any Garter or Rat fans, please forgive my blasphemy!!!
Indigos are CLEARLY not in that category, as I once assumed. For one, I had NO IDEA that they got so HUGE!!! Are they immune to crotalid venom?? If they eat young rattlers, I would think they would be, or else, very good at evading FANGS!!
I would love to see some, in real life. I hear they are protected. IS that nationwide, or just in certain states?
Lemme know!!
