In Reply to: Thanks, I saw the Aztec Reptiles on kingsnake.com and.. posted by Fred Albury(Aztec Reptiles) on June 27, 2002 at 18:26:09:
I read parts of it...but not all (didn't have all day !! LOL)
So...have you contacted the owners of the business in England to see who had the name first? Are any of them involved in that string on the python forum?
My thought would be to find out who had the name first...then the SECOND business to have the name concede to changing to "Aztec Reptiles Europe"
or "Aztec Reptiles USA". A thought at least.
Maybe each co. needs to have a disclaimer on their website right saying "We are in no way associated with Aztec Reptiles Europe etc."
I don't know the legality of this...but...it opens my eyes. I have (unofficially) named my reptile business together with good friend Marc Frevola "Great American Snake" (a corrilation to the title of the article I wrote for reptiles...and referring to what I believe to be the "greatest" of the American snakes.)
and will be revealing it as such soon when I introduce my website. I have researched and not found anyone else to have this name at this time...but am now going to research legal protection of the name, and see what I need to do to keep it our's.
I wish I had a better suggestion to give you...but...it's amazing reading the posts over there how vendictive, vengeful and mean spirited people get. I guess it's easy when you are hundreds of mile away and not looking someone in the face to say such nasty things.
you were only looking for advice...
good luck

"Great American Snake" (at least for now!)
