I have a 2 yr old male that I aquired as a juvenile of 4 months. When he was younger he would have a very strong feeding response and would occasionally strike. He would never actually contact me. They are very smart and can get conditioned easily. Now he is very mellow even during feeding. I always use tongs just in case, but he is very gentle taking the mouse. I only handle him every few days when I take him out to clean his enclosure. I love the way he watches me. He has the best temperment of all the snakes I have had.
