: : : cj, my friends and i keep and breed lots of cribos and all of our adults were wc animals at one time. to tell you the truth, our experiences w/ them are not at all like what was described below. they are generally quite shy and retiring right from the get-go but if given adequate room and a snug hide box, you'll find he will accept you, learn the routine and adjust quite well rather quickly. they're pretty smart,....as far as food goes, offering live rat PUPS as a first meal is a good idea as you don't want him to be hooked on mice when he's 8' plus. just slip them under the hide box a couple days after his arrival and leave them in there. they'll disappear. you won't see your snake very much in the beginning [only gravid females thermoregulate] but eventually you'll catch him sneaking peeks at you and looking you over. these 'peeks' will soon become 'stares'. this means he's curious about you......and/or he's hungry. ;-] just give him 'his space' and go easy w/ the regime......he'll do the rest. feel free to email me if needed w/ any specific questions cj......and good luck w/ him! i don't think you'll find this to be too terrifying a project......da

The choice is yours. Inocorporate some of what Dan was saying in his diatribe, and come to your OWN conclusions, which may be diffrent than either Dans or mine. And may be 100% right btw. : fred, sorry dude, but i gotta call you on this one. you couldn't be MORE wrong here! #1, you don't breed cribos [do you have any at all?], doug does not breed or own any cribos, i know chuck never conveyed any of these 'ideas' to you and who is travis? all of which leads me to ask, what are you basing these ridiculous and outmoded claims on?.......seems to me you are merely parroting the old familiar 'party line'...... on the other hand, i actually DO breed cribos, have been breeding cribos for years and currently own 8 very ltc, rather large, wc adults [diff. subs.], 2 yearling holdbacks and 24 eggs at the time of this writing. i'm pretty sure i KNOW what i'm talking about. getting my drift fred? you seem to shoot entirely too much from the hip in this and other forums i've noticed over the years in your 'ardor' to be heard and i've kept my mouth shut......but not not today. you couldn't have been more wrong here if you tried. the ACTUAL truth of the matter is that cribos, even wc's, are usually quite tractable, docile and ANYTHING but the high strung captives you described them as, when PROPERPLY kept. ie- don't overheat them fredo!..... they are in fact, indigos, same snake, same exact 'lap' snake as a matter of fact only different locale so slightly different requirements ......and they only get even better w/ time and a little effort. if you want to gain actual first hand knowedge of these remarkable animals fred, you gotta work w/ them awhile [as in years].....mere 'pontification' just don't cut it anymore dude. you wanna spew the news, you gotta pay your dues. that's just the way it is. ps- we have lots of 02 babies still coming. i probably can get you a deal fred........;-]

Have kept but not bred Cribos. Have bought wild caught adults. I relayed my expereinces with THOSWE snake here on this forum. YOU question my level of knowledge with these snakes, but one does not have to have 10 years invested to get the gist of what I tried to convey here.
I am glad about your success in reproduceing cribos. I wont be buying any from you. I DO NOT THINK that my position is infallible, or that it is somehow always right, rather that has been my EXPERIENCE. Something you have discounted from the opening of your last post.As if I read a book and regurgitated the information here.
Your post is insulting, not because it disagrees with mine(Not at all), but simply because you take the time out to make me seem like some newcomer who spouts of knowledge not gained by hard work.I have a bin that I put people like you in, not people that disagree with me, but people that take the time out to put me down. It is called the trash bin.
Not to worry, you have good company, Brokers, hustlers and lastly people that cheat their customers all inhabit this bin. They stay there too.Permanently.
If you have ever read any of my caresheets on Indigos, I despise those that act as if 20 years of work with any snake is needed in order to gain knowledge necessary for success.I think that is a crock,perpetuated by those that would have relative newcomers think that they have to "put in their time" in order to even KNOW anything about a snake. Yes, I know Volumes more now about Eastern Indigos and Rubidus than I did 2, 4,5,10 or 15 years ago, but that does not necessarily translate to more success. Anyone that tells you it does is a lieing sack of crap.
I agree to disagree with you Dan Felice, on the subject of Wild caught Cribos. But I disagree with you general attitude when it comes to my knowledge and how MUCH is required before you "arrive" as you obviosuly have. lol
Anyone that knows me even remotely knows I am opinonated, that does not make me always right, ...nowhere close actually. But I think I am right about you. That much I do believe.
