Dan cool off...Fred re-think your opinion of Dan...Some apology is needed ...You're both big enough...

Both of you are correct in some ways in your opening statements, so take it at that and let it go!!

To the original question...
I have both WC and CB Cribos...The only one that has ever bitten is CB!! After the shipping shock wears off, I find these animals to be somewhat nervous (WC) persistant nose rubbers, but not terribly evil...They do produce some BAD musk for a long while though..

For an original thought, my experience...I may be the only one on this forum (don't know for sure) that has actually CAUGHT cribos in the wild...Now this was a long time ago, about 1972, if my old brain remembers that long ago...I caught 4 "Cribos", probably Unicolors, on the island of Roatan off the cost of Belize(I think it was British Honduras back then) This was a college tropical biology field course, yes I got college credit for catching cribos!! I was never bitten by any of these animals!! I kept them back home for quite a while with no problem (no problem putting them in the luggage and just declaring them either!)They ate rather quickly as I remember, and I think it was chicks to start...They stayed quite healthy and in the TCU biology department for some years..

Does that make me an expert? No, but it is a little different experience than most of us can claim..

I have no experience with YT's and will leave that to those who do...

Take home point...I believe these animals have different attitudes from one to the other and it is difficult to predict what any ONE animal will do...

I do believe that CB is the best way to go for a beginner with these snakes (and for all of us for that matter)but we must realize that we can't supply CB for everyone...So some WC animals will be around for a while until we can get them to breed successfully and no longer "need" to take animals from the wild....

Just for the record, folks post an ACTIVE e-mail when you post...Take your arguments/disagreements off the forum and carry on privately...I do this frequently and it keeps me from getting so mad at others...There are not enough of us to "trash" someone else publicly, do it in private, please..

Good luck with your decision and God Bless you Dan and Fred...Your friend, Carl

: PROPS MAN!!!

: This has gotta be a JOKE right?

: WC snakes, ESPECIALLY CRIBOS are horrible. They should only be attempted to be kept by a few breeders, just to bring in new blood. The overwhelming problems with these snakes does not make it worth peoples money or time!

: AND why buy WC when so many CB are avaliable?

: And as for you going after Fred LMAO. He is one of the best breeder of eastern indigo's out there. He also keeps other cribos too. Did you see his article in Reptile And amphibian Magazine a little while ago? Fred is one of the best people in this industry. Humble and honest! We need more people like him.

: Take It Easy Dan!!!!!!
