In Reply to: Indigo VS Forest Cobra....I love Indigos, BUT... posted by Steve B. on April 26, 2002 at 14:06:45:
I was a keeper at KY reptile zoo, worked with forest cobras, kings, spitters, egyptians, asians, cape cobras...and on and on.
I have always said that their personalites were VERY simliar to indigos, but, admittedly, most of the cobras I worked with were wild caught. Most, but not all, were pretty aggressive.
But MORE majestic or interesting than indigos?
I don't think so. They certainly command respect because they can KILL you...but not MORE interesting than indigos by any means.
At a show in Lexington, KY, I once had forest cobra babies in a cage right next to a cage with baby indigos. they looked so similar it was SCARY. same size, shape, color...the forest cobras even have the indigo trademark slash under the eye. they had a little more white on the chin...that's about it.
