We have 1.2 Forest Cobras at work. All 3 are totally calm, but active and inquisitive. Our male is 8 or 9 feet, and can stand up 3' or so, perfectly still, with a full hood. He does that whenever he's curious. The only thing I've ever worked with that was more majestic was a big male African Lion.
The difference in Forest Cobras is often whether or not they were captive born, as ours were, at Transvaal Snake Park. Wild borns are crazy.
Message for Doug: male Kings are much bigger than females. We have a huge old guy, in his twenties, who holds the longevity record in the U.S. I'd say he's about 14 feet.
