Your indigos are clearly INSANE.
Honestly, can't say I've ever heard of such weird behavior. If your snakes are being cooled, the male shouldn't have much interest in being awake at night. Could be scents from the female making the males crazy. I know I had trouble with that back in the day...
I've also never had aggressive behavior from a male. I've had females become aggressive, bluff strikes missing by 4 feet, at some point during mating season, but not males.
I'm stumped.
: My adult male is super active at night, contrary to everything i have read about these snakes.
: anytime i come into the herp room at night (even 2 or 3 AM), he is prowling his cage.
: temperatures are not abnormal, and the adult female is asleep in the cage right next to him. he's been this way since i got him, in june.
: any thoughts?
