hey...I'm an Eastern Indigo lover (also have produced healthy babies several times)...new to this site. Anyway, FYI for all of you who are interested in the wild status of this animal, NASA has several ecologists dedicated to saving the Eastern Indigo on their Kennedy Space center in East-Central Florida. For the past few years, 20 or more animals are being tracked via radio-telemetry devices in order to better understand ranges, preferred habitats, breeding activity, how and why specimens are dying etc. the goal is to eventually set up several "Indigo model habitats" that can be moniored, then maybe duplicated in other parts of the state. It's an encouraging step, however the animals they are tracking, well, many are road killed or killed by humans. it's good to know they are trying...i can't tell you any too detailed info or i'd have to kill ya...thought yuo'd like to know.
