I made that original pot referring to the snakes on KSC. They are all consistent in that the adult males have the small (1/4) scale keel on the 3 scales rows along the spine and the females lack them.
My adults have them too. but I found it interesting that of my adult TX indigos, which I have 3.1, only 1 of the males had them. My adult male yellowtail also lacks them.
The biologists at KSC are so sure about this that they do not even probe mature snakes.
Last time I posted no one responded ...
