: Is there any harm in letting the eye cap (which has not shed) remain until the next shed--as opposed to removing it? If I do leave it, and it does not come off with the next shed, then I think I'm going to the vet, but--I was thinking, if there is no harm in waiting, why not let nature take it's course--OR AM I MAKING A HUGE MISTAKE???
I have an indigo, I purchased a few years ago, that is blind in one eye. She was this way when I got her, but I'm sure it was due to an eye cap problem. I try to always remove the caps so as not to take any chance on infection etc. I've been successful at using my fingernail and flipping it up at the edge. I also agree with the others that it is probably due mostly to humidity conditions.
