Question for people who currently have black tailed Cribo's.

I am expecting some baby black tailed cribos next week and these are supposed to be "McManus" strain. What is that type of strain? Also, I've been told that the original breeder keeps his adult breeders together year round. Is this possible if fed well? Any advice and help would be appreciated.....
