I paid 500 bucks for a good incubator only to learn the hard way that a forced air system with fans tends to dry out the top half of your substrate completely, giving you the impression MORE water is needed, causing you (me...the idiot), to add more water, whereby your substrate super-saturates on the bottom half and you basically end up with eggs sitting in a half inch of "sludge" on the bottom.
: I feel like such an a-hole.....regular old Colubrids hatching in my closet between 80-90 degrees sure is a heck of a lot easier and cheaper.
: 500 bucks for the 'bator, countless rats and hours of worry and doing what you thought was right and here I stand with my d#ck in my hand to show for it.

Your not kidding when you said that it was my "Turn" on the wheel of frustration last year.
Sorry to hear that you are this years beneficiary of the prize. Good observation on the forced air incubator and the water.Unfortunately(Or fortunately, depending how you look at it) I could never bring myself to part with the $ to buy an incubator of the caliber you have.
One thing I did this year, that I didn't do last year, and that was I didnt COUNT ANYTHING as viable until it HATCHED. And didnt count the hatched ones as viable until they fed..You get the idea. Chickens eggs,,hatch...
I wont tell you how many I have produced, lets just say that last years "bad luck' passed me by this year and I still have more in the incubator.
maybe next year will be my doom year, or maybe someone else here will get it. Hey..Indigos, you gotta love em'
