law enforcement's job simple!! Now whether that saves the indigo is another question altogether. These biological questions are comlex for sure. Bill Love has a good article in this months Reptile magazine concerning this matter. I would suggest that everyone read it. Having spent 45 years herping, I can really appreciate his views. I on one hand I really value freedom...freedom to do as much or as little as I would like. Where this line needs to be drawn is up for debate. Know doubt, the indigo is declining in the wilds, but, I am just not sure that "collecting" is the culprit for this decline. I wonder if loss of habitat, or roads and automobiles may play a sigificant part? Or how about the worst drought in recorded history that has besieged Florida? Anyone who has kept indigos knows that they require lots of water. I guess my opinion is, and I know alot of folks disagree with it, is that the beauty of nature lies only in mans ability to grasp and see it. And the only way that most of us will ever be able to do that is if we are taught by those who have that vision.
