: My thought is that the more tropical subsp. probably mate year round. I saw a hatchling yellowtail cribo last week at the Tampa expo. It was wild caught and WAY too small to be last year's. My educated guess would be that easterns are triggering into mating when the nightime drops start hitting certain levels, and they become gravid when temps start indicating spring is coming. so...it could vary from year to year and north to south.
Thanks for the timely answer. How about captive breeding, I know other snakes have been double clutched, (though I would think it a bad idea for Indigos), has any one had a late mating.
