When my girl had the c-section, she didn't get bred the next season but the one after.
: : Thanks for the advice. So far, no luck. I have already called my vet and we are going to get her fixed up first thing tomorrow morning. I didn't realize how much different these eggs are compared to typical colubrid eggs. Hopefully, all will go well.
: : : Congrats on the eggs Rob!
: : : I'm not Fred, but here's my unsolicited .02!
: : : I am a nervous mother hen waiting for mine. You may have noticed the crystalline and porous texture of the eggs.
: : : I'd give her a day or two. I have had this happen with a Gray Band and was able to palpate the egg to the vent and "push" it out.
: : : Because of the rough texture I may be hesitant to try this with an Indigo. A small meal may help as well.
: : : Then it's vet time if nothing happens......quite a bit higher end snake than Gray Bands!
: : : Fred....what is your advice on this?
: : : Good luck Rob!
: : : Peace,

: Rob.
: I have never had an egg bound female. I chalk it up to waiting until they hit 6 ft+ to even consider breeding them, but mainly to Gods grace and less of my doing. One of my friends has had his colubrids(Hondurans etc) get egg bound and we aspirated the eggs as doug described earlier, it seemed to work well.
: Indigo eggs are way more granular and often largere than most colubrid eggs. sorry for the lack of advice. Bringing her to the vet is Definetly you best option, it is truly amazeing that dougs female reproduced the year after the surgery, with no ill effects. You learn something every day..
