I keep Spilotes too and have often thought them to be like skinny, arboreal indigos. They eat anything, are powerful but are not constrictors, and have a very fast metabolism.
While doing a little research on Indigos I found that the Indigos and cribos were originally named (Coluber corais), then that changed to (Spilotes corais) before the genus Drymarchon was formed. So...you're not they only one who thinks they are similar.
